PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a heat belt type heating device, having a plurality of heating sources or heating bodies heating a heat belt, low-cost by decreasing the number of temperature detection bodies in use while maintaining heating performance and further to improve the separating performance of a heated material in the heat belt type heating device. SOLUTION: The heat belt 1 is held at specified temperature by a temperature detection body 10 which is arranged in a heated material passage area and detects the temperature of the heat belt 1 or one of the heating bodies and power supply control means 51 and 52 which control electric power supplied to the plurality of heating sources 2 and 3, and the heating source power consumption of the plurality of heating bodies 2 and 3 heating the heat belt 1 in a heated material heating process is so set that the heating source power consumption on the upstream side in the transport direction of the heated material P is larger than that on the downstream side; and the heating body supports the heat belt and is a plurality of heat rollers having heating sources and the external diameters of the heat rollers are so set that the external diameter of a heat roller on the upstream side in the transport direction of a recording material P is larger than that on the downstream side.
