PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transferring/separating device by which the speeding-up of image forming is attained and an excellent image is formed by performing excellent transfer and separation even in use over a long term without replacing a transfer belt and an image forming apparatus using it. SOLUTION: In the transferring/separating device 1 using the transfer belt 6 which is arranged opposed to a photoreceptor 3 and by which a toner image formed on the photoreceptor 3 by holding and feeding a transfer material S by a nip part with the photoreceptor 3 is electrostatically transferred to the transfer material S by applying the transfer bias of≤-1000 V and the transfer material S after transfer is separated from the photoreceptor 3 and is fed to a fixing device 17, the transfer belt 6 incorporates a filler whose particle size is 0.5% to 5.0% of the thickness of the transfer belt 6, so that the transfer belt 6 is used by a peripheral length elongated to be longer by 1% to 7% than a peripheral length in a state that a load is not applied.
