The invention provides sulfated derivatives of polysaccharides such as hyaluronic acid and hyaluronic acid esters exhbiting anticoagulant, antithrombotic and angiogenic activity, for use in the biomedical area. The invention further provides complex ions, biomedical objects and pharmaceutical compositions comprising these derivatives.
