PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the maintainability and further economical efficiency of an image forming device by extending the life of a cleaning device for an elastic transfer medium for secondarily transferring a developed image consisting of a liquid developer on a photoreceptor to recording paper and holding excellent transfer performance by the transfer medium for a long period. SOLUTION: A holding roller 32 presses a sticky cleaning agent 34 against an intermediate transfer roller to stick sticking matter on the sticky cleaning agent 34, which is then collected in a container 31 by the holding roller 32. The sticky cleaning agent 34 is temporarily peeled off the holding roller 32 in the container 31 with a peeling blade 34. While the peeled sticky cleaning agent 34 is supplied to the holding roller 32 again along the shape of the container 31, the sticking matter is dispersed and mixed with the sticky cleaning agent 34 to hold characteristics of the sticky cleaning agent 34 excellent.
