PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide light emitting elements or a light emitting device having both practical luminance and stability. SOLUTION: The light emitting device is provided with light emitting elements in which an electric charge injection transport medium and a light emitting medium that include an organic or an inorganic compound are formed between a pair of electrodes. In the light emitting device, a resistor body is arranged between the light emitting elements and an active element that is a control means to apply a voltage to the light emitting elements and the voltage is applied through the resistor body. Since the resistor body holds a constant resistive value, even when light emitting element changes over time resulting in increase in the internal resistive value of the light emitting element, the influence of the increase is reduced at constant voltage drive. The resistor body is formed on the surface of the opposite side on which the electric charge injection and transport medium, and the light emitting medium are not formed, of at least one of the electrodes of the pair of the electrodes.
