PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-definition, high-quality, and inexpensive front substrate for an electrophoretic display panel which is a front substrate for an electrophoretic display panel making color display, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: On a long-sized beltlike transparent base material 5, a transparent electrode 4, a color filter layer 14, and a capsule type electrophoretic layer 3 are provided in order and a long-sized beltlike projection base material 91 is laminated. There are included a process of forming a color filter layer consisting of a colored photopolymer layer and coloration patterns of a desired number of colors and the capsule type electrophoretic layer on the long-sized beltlike transparent base material provided with the transparent electrode and a process of laminating the long-sized protection base material.
