PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent peeling of an optical isolator element 1 and falling-off of a magnet 5 and to provide a new structure with excellent reliability in an optical isolator in which the optical isolator element 1 is adhered and loaded on a ferrule 3 holding an optical fiber 2. SOLUTION: A transparent elastic body 7 is adhered to one end face of the ferrule 3 holding the optical fiber 2 and the end face of the optical fiber 2 exposed on the end face, the optical isolator element 1 is loaded on the transparent elastic body 7 and the optical isolator element 1 is clamped by the holding member 6 and the transparent elastic body 7.
