<p>The invention relates to a method of cleaning containers and piping systems which are contaminated with organic substances through the application of vapour-phase solvents. The inventive method comprises the following operations: vaporisation of the solvent in a vacuum heating tank, injection of the vaporised solvent into the installation and dissolution of the contaminant, suction and filtration of the dissolution, in situ recovery of the contaminated solvent, treatment of emission gases and ventilation of the installation. Said method is characterised in that it involves the use of a vacuum pump which performs the following functions, namely: maintaining the vacuum in the vaporisation tank, injecting the solvent vapour into the installation, forcing the suction and filtration of the dissolution, and enabling the recovery of the contaminated solvent by vacuum distillation. The invention is suitable for cleaning storage tanks, land and sea transport tanks, oil pipelines, piping systems and treatment units.</p> |
