<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-pump type hot water supply device and the boiling control method capable of preventing hot water from running out next day when the amount of hot water used is less than usual. <P>SOLUTION: Using a heat pump cycle, this heat-pump type water heater heats fluid for water supply, stores heated fluid from the top of a hot water storage tank 2, returns it to a heat pump main unit 10, which is a heat source, from the bottom of the hot water storage tank 2, stops heating when the temperature of the fluid stored in the hot water storage tank 2 or returned to the heat pump main unit 10 reaches a prescribed temperature, and starts heating when the amount of remaining hot water becomes less than the specified amount.
