PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device which enables a photographer to comfortably take a picture without feeling delay of a focusing time by shortening a focusing time. SOLUTION: The photographing device has a button body 7 held on a camera body 1 so that the body can be pressed in stages to first and second positions and a release button 6 equipped with a touch sensor 8 provided on the top surface of the button body 7 exposed on the camera body 1. Further, a position change detection part (switches 9b and 9c of the release switch 9) which detects the release button 6 changing the position to the first position and second position when the release button 6 is pressed in two stages to the first and second positions is provided in the camera body 1. Further, a control means (arithmetic control circuit 11) is provided which starts photography preparing operation when the touch sensor 8 is touched with a photographer's finger, continues the photography preparing operation even after the release button 6 changes the position to the first position, and starts photographing operation when the release button 6 changes the position to the second position.
