PRECURSOR FIBER FOR CARBON FIBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability and obtain a high-strength carbon fiber by reducing the amount of a silicone component used, in an silicone-based oil solution used for carbon fiber production. SOLUTION: The precursor fiber for carbon fiber is obtained by applying an oil solution containing a modified silicone component in which weight residual ratio r1 after retaining in the air at 240°C for 2 hr is≥85 wt.% and weight residual ratio r2 after retaining in the nitrogen atmosphere at 470°C for 1 hr is≥10 wt.% and≤30 wt.% and a non-silicone component in which weight residual ratio r1 after retaining in the air at 240°C for 2 hr is≤10 wt.% at a weight ratio of (20-50) to (50-80) to a precursor fiber.
