PURPOSE:To collect image information of three-dimensional space with an ultrasonic probe by rotating the sectorial scanning section of ultrasonic beams around its central axis and making the relative rotating angle detectable. CONSTITUTION:A case 4' of the ultrasonic probe is formed into double structures of an inside cylinder 10 and an outside cylinder 9. The inside cylinder 10 is coupled freely rotatably coupled coaxially within the outside cylinder 9. A transducer 3 is integrally fixed into the inside cylinder 10 and further, the revolving shaft 11 of the inside cylinder 10 is provided with an encoder for detecting the relative rotating angle of the inside cylinder 10 with respect to the outside cylinder 9. The ultrasonic probe is so formed that the rotating angle signal detected by the encoder 13 is transmitted via a cable 5. As a result, the sectorial scanning section of the ultrasonic beams is rotated around its central axis and the relative rotating angle thereof is made detectable, by which the collection of the image information of the three-dimensional space is made possible. |
