PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material capable of easily and rapidly selecting a high molecule material with a property to be targeted, and to provide a screening method capable of easily and rapidly selecting a high molecule material suitable to various functional materials. SOLUTION: A synthetic polymer structural base material is produced having at least high molecules on a surface with side chains capable of changing a functional group, and various candidates of the functional material are coupled to the side chain of the structural base material, thereby providing the screening method capable of easily and rapidly selecting the high molecule material with the property to be targeted.
