<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with excellent visibility capable of improving lighting efficiency to a liquid crystal cell and making the display of the liquid crystal cell easy to view. <P>SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device comprises: the liquid crystal cell for which liquid crystal is enclosed between insulating substrates 2 and 3 composed of glass and a reflection member is disposed between the insulating substrates; and a light transmission plate arranged on the front surface side of the liquid crystal cell and composed of a surface part having a prism part composed of the fine recessed and projected part of a scalene triangle and a side part where light from a light source enters.
