PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator in which further accurate detection of a quantity of ice stored in performed. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator, an ice tray and an ice storing box are disposed in an ice making chamber. A weight detecting plate is disposed in the ice making chamber, the ice storing box is placed on the weight detecting plate, and according to the weight detected by the weight detecting plate, ice making in the ice tray is controlled, whereby the weight of ice is directly detected to measure the quantity of ice stored, so that a wrong detection more likely to occur in the refrigerator using an ice detecting lever hardly occurs in either case where ice is uneven or where ice is not uneven.
