PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce sizes and weights of a mission chamber and an engine in a vehicular engine having a gear train for rearward movement. SOLUTION: The mission chamber 52 is provided at a rear part inside a crank case 20. A generator chamber 58 and a clutch chamber 59 are provided at both ends in the crank axial center direction of the crank case 20. A speed changing gear mechanism having the gear train for the rearward movement is stored inside the mission chamber 52. The mission chamber 52 is projected on one side in the crank axial center direction from the crank chamber 51. An idle gear 90 for the rearward movement is arranged at a projected part of the mission chamber 52. The idle gear 90 for the rearward movement is projected in the generator chamber 58 through a gear insertion hole 69 formed at a partition wall of the mission chamber 52 and the generator chamber 58. An idle gear shaft 44 for the rearward movement is supported on both sides by a left end wall 53a of the mission chamber and a shaft supporting part seat 66 fixed to the end wall 53a.
