PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle device wherein allowance of unbalance is improved, weigh the device is saved on, and of maintainability is improved. SOLUTION: This spindle device is furnished with a rotation axis 1 having a head mounting part 1a on which an atomizing head 11 is mounted and a radial bearing 4 and a thrust bearing 5 to support the rotation axis 1 against a housing 2 free to rotate. The radial bearing 4 and the thrust bearing 5 are made into foil bearings. These foil bearings have bearing foils 23, 56 respectively having bearing surfaces to face the rotation axis 1 and elastic bodies 22, 53 to support the bearing foils 23, 56. The elastic bodies 22, 53 are, for example, made into an aggregate of metal fine lines. The radial bearing 4 and the thrust bearing 5 are respectively utilized with bearing housings 21, 51 and detachably mounted on a main body bearing housing 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
