PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor capable of precluding a drop of the performance caused by an inclination of a rotary shaft and/or a rotor. SOLUTION: The rotary compressor includes a sealed vessel 12 accommodating a motor element 14 and a rotary compressing element 32 driven by the motor element 14, wherein the motor element 14 is composed of a stator 22 fixed to the sealed vessel 12 and a rotor 24 fixed to a rotary shaft and rotating inside the stator 22, and the rotary compressing element 32 is equipped with a cylinder 40 fixed to the inner surface of the sealed vessel 12 and a roller 48 fitted on an eccentric portion 44 of the rotary shaft 16 and rotating eccentrically inside the cylinder 40, and the periphery 41 of the cylinder 40 abutting to the inner surface of the sealed vessel 12 is protruded in the axial direction of the sealed vessel 12.
