Assigned to each point in a volume, a transparency increases with increasing distance i.e. d(r-r0) from a reference point (r0) on a structure (1) of interest. This means that the reference point and its surroundings are depicted in great detail but with soft tones along with structures (2-4) at a distance from them. An Independent claim is also included for an image-processing system for visualizing a volume of three-dimensional data.
