<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of function of a polarizing plate resulted form iodine decoloring by moisture. <P>SOLUTION: A peripheral end surface of polarizing plates 5 and 6 of a liquid crystal panel 4 is coated by unidirectionally permeable films 7 and 8 in order to prevent water from entering from outside. Also, steam inside is effused outside in order to prevent dew condensation. By doing so, the iodine contained in a PVA film 9 composing the polarizing plates 5 and 6 are decolorized, and this prevents the deterioration of the function of the polarizing plates 5 and 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
