<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display with high display quality without causing problems such as light leakage or the like. <P>SOLUTION: This is a polarizing plate consisting of an optical compensation film which has an optical anisotropic layer which is comprised of (a) a polymer film, (b) a polarizing membrane, and (c) a liquid crystal compound on a polymer base material.
