IMPROVED HEAT EXCHANGER WITH REDUCED FOULING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved heat exchanger for substantially reducing a dead zone and areas of stagnation causing a remarkable fouling problem.

SOLUTION: A form of the heat exchanger copes with erosion of a tube of an inlet area by providing a sacrifice part having the tube length so that the dead zone and a stay area are substantially minimized or eliminated, and an eroded portion of the tubes is substantially further inexpensively and easily repaired and replaced by minimal process interruption. The exchanger desirably reduces the tube by using an axial direction flow for a shell-side fluid.
