<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a decomposition gas for a clean fuel adaptable to a highly efficient heat engine such as a gas turbine by pyrolyzing a highly wet biomass. <P>SOLUTION: A trap part 2 in a casing 1 is filled with a solvent 3 comprising a light decomposition solvent (gas oil or kerosene, or benzene, toluene, xylene or the like according to a temperature level). A decomposition gas 4 obtained by carbonizing and pyrolyzing a biomass is passed through the trap part 2 filled with the solvent 3 to dissolve and remove the tar and dust in the gas, thus giving a biomass decomposition gas that can be used as a clean fuel for a highly efficient heat engine such as a gas turbine. The viscous solution 6 is circulated through a heat exchanger 8 to maintain the temperature in the apparatus below the boiling point of the solvent. The liquid level of the viscous solution 6 is monitored with a sensor 11. When the liquid level rises, the solution 6 is discharged out of the apparatus according to a command from a controller 12 and utilized as a fuel for a boiler in e.g. a power generation system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
