PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing (meth)acrylic acid, capable of stably distilling and purifying the (meth)acrylic acid for a long period, by preventing formation of polymers of the (meth)acrylic acid in a distillation column and clogging thereof caused by the polymers, when the (meth)acrylic acid is produced and purified so that a reaction gas containing the (meth)acrylic acid is obtained by gas-phase catalytic oxidation, then the obtained reaction gas is brought into contact with an absorbing solvent to form an aqueous (meth) acrylic acid solution, and further the formed aqueous (meth)acrylic acid solution is introduced into a distillation column to be purified. SOLUTION: This method for producing the (meth)acrylic acid comprises controlling a concentration of dissolved oxygen in the aqueous (meth)acrylic acid solution which is introduced into the distillation column so as to be 12 ppm or more in weight, then supplying the distillation column with the solution.
