PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bleach composition excellent in thickening properties, storage stability, and viscosity control. SOLUTION: The bleach composition is one comprising 0.1-10 mass% (a) alkali metal hypochlorite, 0.1-5 mass% (b) alkali agent, (c) a tertiary amine oxide represented by formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a 12-18C alkyl; and R<SP>2</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are each independently a 1-3C alkyl), and (d) n-octyl sulfate, wherein the ratio of the content of component (c) to the content of component (d) is 2:1 to 9:1 by mass, and the total content of components (c) and (d) is 0.5-4 mass% based on the entire composition.
