<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonmagnetic single-component developer and a process cartridge which achieves excellent circulation of the developer and prevent the developer from caking even when durably used for a long period to form a toner image of excellent picture quality. <P>SOLUTION: The united type process cartridge has a developing means which visualizes an electrostatic latent image on a latent image carrier with the nonmagnetic single-component developer and has a developer storage part storing the developer and a developer agitating and carrying member agitating the developer stored in the developer storage part; and the agitating and carrying member has two or more rotary agitating and carrying means each having a rotary shaft perpendicular to a vertical section bisecting a surface of the latent image carrier against which the developing member is pressed. Here, S2/S1 is 0.8 to 0.99, where S1 is the area of the developer storage part in the vertical section and S2 is the area of a part corresponding to a movable area of the rotary type agitating and carrying means; a ratio (Sa/Sb) is 1.5 to 3.0, where Sa and Sb are the long side and short sides respectively of a circumscribed parallelogram having minimum area for the area S1; and the developer contains binding resin and a coloring agent, the fluidity index being 50 to 90 and the jet index being 45 to 96. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
