<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unevenness of brightness in a display device. <P>SOLUTION: In the display device, a brightness acquisition part 32 acquires a brightness signal from an inputted image signal. A difference calculation part 36 compares the brightness signal of the present frame obtained by the brightness acquisition part 32 with the brightness signal of the preceding frame held in frame memory 34, to calculate the difference. A judgment part 40 judges that, when the difference of brightness is large, the image of that part is moving and judges that, when the difference of brightness is small, the image of the part is at a standstill. A gain calculation part 42 lowers stepwise the brightness of the standstill part of the image and returns stepwise the brightness of the moving part of the image to the original. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
