PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide exterior parts for timepieces which are reduced in costs and are greatly expanded in color variations. SOLUTION: The paint film 8 is formed by applying electrodeposition painting onto a first plating layer 4 or second plating layer 6. The paint film 8 formed by the electrodeposition painting has a good adhesion property to the plating layers. Also, the paint film can be formed at a specified film thickness. The improvement in the corrosion resistance and reliability of the paint film 8 is thus resulted. A Cu-Sn plating can be thereby omitted, the plating layer by Au plating or Pd plating or Pt plating can be made thin or omitted and the cost can be drastically reduced.
