PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a quick hardening cement composition in which not only specified quick hardening components are not contained, but also special quick setting materials are not added. SOLUTION: This cement composition is obtained by adding gypsum to a clinker composition in which the content of an interstitial phase (C<SB>3</SB>A+C<SB>4</SB>AF) in the cement is, by mass, 24 to <30%, and also, the C<SB>3</SB>A content is 12 to <30% so that the ratio of the content of SO<SB>3</SB>in a soluble sulfate in the cement to the product of the C<SB>3</SB>A content and the interstitial phase content reaches≤0.007. Alternatively, the cement composition is obtained by adding gypsum to a clinker composition in which the content of the interstitial phase (C<SB>3</SB>A+C<SB>4</SB>AF) in the cement is 30%, and also, the content of the C<SB>3</SB>A is 15 to 30% so that the ratio of the content of SO<SB>3</SB>in the soluble sulfate in the cement to the product of the C<SB>3</SB>A content and the interstitial phase content reaches≤0.004.
