The grab for picking up dog excrement may be operated by a rod (10), made of plastics, sliding inside a tube. Hinged members (9) at the bottom of the rod and attached to the bottom of the tube open and close the two jaws (1). The jaws may close round a plastics bag to enclose a piece of dog excrement before it is carried away.
