METHOD FOR SIZING CARBON FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sizing carbon fiber with a comparatively economical apparatus, decreasing uneven size adhesion caused by fluffs or caused by sizing liquid film in multiple thread treatment and suppressing fluffs and thread breakage in successive steps. SOLUTION: This method for adhering a sizing agent to carbon fiber threads comprises soaking the carbon fiber threads in a sizing agent solution or dispersion and blowing a pressurized gas to the soaked carbon fiber threads at a rate of 0.3-5 m/s and is characterized by installing a pressurized gas blast nozzle and a shield plate in the apparatus and passing the carbon fiber threads through between the blast nozzle and the shield plate.
