STRUCTURE OF ANTIREFLECTION FILM TO ONE-DIMENSIONAL PHOTONIC CRYSTAL AND ITS FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent reflection to a photonic crystal in a simpler method by removing defects in an antireflection film formation method to a conventional photonic crystal.

SOLUTION: A one-dimensional photonic crystal 37 has spatial distribution of a cyclic refractive index only in one direction specified to propagate light, and has uniform refractive index distribution in a direction vertical thereto. The one-dimensional photonic crystal has a structure of an antireflection film to the photonic crystal enhancing incident efficiency of light into the one- dimensional photonic crystal by adding a medium 45 having a refractive index and a thickness obtained by a prescribed calculation method.
