PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation data reading system which can efficiently excite a stimulable phosphor include in the stimulable phosphor layer of a stimulable phosphor sheet by exciting light, and can read the radiation data recorded on the stimulable phosphor layer of the stimulable phosphor sheet at a high resolution. SOLUTION: The system of reading the radiation data recorded on the stimulable phosphor sheet consists of: a humidifier 20 for making humid a stimulable phosphor layer 12 which is formed onto a stimulable phosphor sheet 10 and which stores radiation energy to record the radiation data; excitation light sources 31, 32, and 33 which emit exciting light; a sample stage 50 on which the stimulable phosphor sheet is placed; a photodetector 60 for photoelectrically detecting the stimulated light which the stimulable phosphor included in the stimulable phosphor layer emits by being excited by the exciting light 34 emitted from the excitation light sources; and a scanner provided with a scanning mechanism which scans the stimulable phosphor layer of the stimulable phosphor sheet with the exciting light emitted from the exciting light sources while moving relatively the stimulable phosphor sheet placed on the sample stage and the exciting light emitted from the excitation light sources.
