PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a sheathed optical submarine cable capable of securing the continuity of work, improving work efficiency and reducing required manual aid. SOLUTION: The method is for manufacturing the sheathed optical submarine cable (12) provided with a cable core (10) and a plurality of sheathing wires (11) wound around the cable core on a working line (13). In the manufacturing method, paint which is solid at a normal temperature is dissolved and continuously and automatically supplied and the dissolved paint is applied to the plurality of the sheathing wires when the plurality of the sheathing wires pass through a coating device (14).
