摘要 Material for coating objects containing rare earth metal alloys (especially rare earth permanent magnets) contains at least one of the following functional components in aqueous solution: (a) alkoxysilanes with vinyl, (meth)acryl, amino, epoxy, mercapto or urethane groups and/or (b) aliphatic or aromatic compounds with two hydroxymethyl groups. Material (7) for coating the surfaces of objects containing rare earth metal alloys, especially rare earth permanent magnets, contains at least one of the following functional components in aqueous solution: (a) organofunctional silanes of formula R-(CH2)n-SiX3 and/or (b) aliphatic prim. diols of formula HO-CH2-Y-CH2-OH. X = alkoxy, especially methoxy or ethoxy; R = an alkyl group containing vinyl, (meth)acryl, amino, epoxy, mercapto or urethane units; Y = an aliphatic or aromatic residue. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for coating surfaces as above (especially rare earth permanent magnets) in which material (7) is applied to the surface and then dried (2) rare earth magnets, especially magnets based on neodymium-iron-boron, coated with material (7), preferably in crosslinked form
