PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a teleconverter lens obtaining high optical performance while realizing desired afocal magnification. SOLUTION: The teleconverter lens C mounted on the object side of a principal lens M is constituted of a cemented lens of an overall positive refractive power LC obtained by bonding a 1st lens L<SB>1</SB>of positive refractive power pointing to its convex surface having larger curvature on the object side than on the image side and a 2nd lens L<SB>2</SB>having negative refractive power, a 3rd lens L<SB>3</SB>of meniscus form one pointing its convex surface to the object side and having positive refractive power and a 4th lens L<SB>4</SB>of a biconcave lens pointing to a concave surface having larger curvature on the image side than on the object side and having negative refractive power, placed in this order from the object side.
