PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance pulse correcting device which can reduce a mistake of measuring a distance by a compact device and to provide a running distance measuring apparatus. SOLUTION: When a speed generator for a vehicle generates a distance pulse in response to a rotation of a wheel, this pulse is input to a distance pulse input unit 5, and an acceleration calculating unit 6b calculates an acceleration a<SB>i</SB>based on this pulse. When the wheel slips or slides, the pulse output from the generator becomes abnormal. An acceleration deciding unit 7a decides whether the acceleration a<SB>i</SB>is abnormal or not, and detects the wheel's slip or slide. If the acceleration a<SB>i</SB>is abnormal, a pulse generator 8 generates a normal distance pulse based on the pulse output from the unit 5. As a result, the normal pulse is generated instead of the abnormal pulse generated at the wheel idle or slide time, and hence the mistake of measuring the distance or speed can be reduced as much as possible.
