PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening preventives and therapeutic agents for a kidney disease or the like. SOLUTION: The screening method uses proteins or their salts having an amino acid arrangement identical or actually identical to an amino acid arrangement represented by the arrangement number of one, and screens the preventive and the therapeutic agent for the disease relating to the protein or its salt.
