PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic shielding article for providing comparatively excellent acoustic shielding by avoiding a fault of a known constitution to shield a source of sound in an engine of an automobile, in particular. SOLUTION: This acoustic shielding article includes (a) a shaped thermoplastic element having a surface facing the source of sound and (b) a metal inlay element having substantially opposed first and second surfaces, at least one of which is fixedly joined to the shaped thermoplastic element. The shaped thermoplastic element is formed by means of molding thermoplastic material on at least one of the first and second surfaces of the metal inlay element, and thereby the metal inlay element is fixedly joined to the shaped thermoplastic element.
