PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve lubricating efficiency, and to enable using a scavenging pump having comparatively small capacity, by preventing a lubricating oil supplied into a bearing member supporting a journal portion of a crank shaft from unnecessarily leaking to a crank chamber through an outer peripheral surface of the journal portion, in a drysump type lubricating device of an engine. SOLUTION: The lubricating device of the engine: includes the bearing member 14 installed to a journal supporting wall 51 of a crank case 4; and comprises a feed pump 56 supplying the lubricating oil to each portion of the engine, and the scavenging pump 57 sucking the lubricating oil collecting in the crank chamber 18 to return to an oil sump 53. An oil seal 74 tightly contacted with an outer peripheral surface of the journal portion 13j in an inner end side of the bearing member 14 is installed to the journal supporting wall 51, thereby preventing negative pressure generated in the crank chamber 18 from acting on the bearing member 14.
