PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deformation of a seismic isolator due to a laminated rubber by vibrations and load applied to the seismic isolator, and to assure the quality of the seismic isolator while also ensuring safety in the case of the execution of works when the seismic isolator is transported at the construction site of a seismically isolated building and during the execution of works of the building. SOLUTION: In the seismic isolator 1, which is disposed on a foundation for a building skeleton and in which the laminated rubbers 2 by the alternate- layer structure of the rubber and a steel plate are disposed among upper-lower flange plates 3 and 3, restraining members 10 restraining the relative displacement of the flange plates 3 and 3 are installed detachably among the flange plates 3 and 3.
