PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe jacking machine which enables the easier replacement than ever of a roller bit of a rotating excavation implement by pulling out a leading body to the side of a starting shaft. SOLUTION: This pipe jacking machine is equipped with the leading body having: a main body 1 of the leading body, which is to be supported so that a mud passage 7 can be formed on the periphery thereof during excavation; and the rotating excavation implement which is provided with the roller bit 2a and in which an excavating outside diameter is larger than an outside diameter of the main body 1. In the pipe jacking machine, a thickener is injected into excavated sediment, so that mud 5 with plastic fluidity can be produced; the excavation is performed by the leading body while the mud 5 is passed through the mud passage 7 around the main body 1; extensible grippers 21 are arranged directly above the main body 1 and on the right and left sides of the main body 1; a leading body supporting member 8 is arranged directly below the main body 1; and the leading body is supported by the grippers 21 and the member 8, so that the mud passage 7 can be formed around the main body 1.
