The invention relates to a tip-up chair comprising a seat (12) and means (16) of supporting said seat (12). The aforementioned seat can pivot in relation to the support means between a seating position and a tipped-up position. The support means comprise a central support element (16) consisting of a seat support part (24) bearing a seat shaft (28). Said shaft is provided with two end parts (28A, 28B) and defines the pivot axis of the seat (12). The lower face of the seat (12) comprises a seat housing having a central through part (36) which is used to receive the seat support part (24) and two side parts which extend from either side of said central part and which receive the aforementioned end parts (28A, 28B). The inventive chair comprises hold means (12) which are used to hold said seat shaft (28) in the seat housing therefor. End stop means are used to support the seat (12) in the low position. |
