<p>A coating fluid which contains a styrene/butadiene copolymer (SBR) latex emulsion undergoing accelerated solidification and thereby gives a coated paper through application with an off-machine coater at a speed as high as at least 700 m/sec; and a process for producing a coated paper with the coating fluid. The coating fluid comprises at least a pigment, an SBR latex emulsion, and hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), the amount of the HEC being 0.5 to 5% based on the SBR latex on a dry basis.</p> |
