<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus by which the occurrence of a defective image is prevented and whose maintenance property is improved by optimizing the positioning of devices with each other in the case that a cartridge structure attachable/detachable to/from a device main body is provided. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted of the device main body possessing several juxtaposed image forming parts 1, a transfer means 13 provided opposed to several image forming parts 1 at the device main body and to successively transfer images formed by several image forming parts 1 and a supporting means 16 provided at the device main body, to freely turnably support the transfer means 13 at a first position at which the transfer means 13 gets near to the image forming parts 1 and performs transfer and a second position at which the transfer means 13 is separated from the image forming parts 1 and to set the transfer means 13 in a posture in which it is made attachable/detachable when the transfer means 13 is at the second position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
