PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a pollution-free normal temperature curing type electrocoating material excellent in corrosion resistance, finishing property, or the like, without containing a lead compound. SOLUTION: This pollution-free normal temperature curing type electrocoating material comprises (I) an emulsion comprising (A) a fatty acid-modified acrylic resin obtained by copolymerizing (a) a fatty acid-modified acrylic monomer with (b) an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and (c) the other unsaturated monomer and (II) a pigment paste comprising (B) a resin obtained by copolymerizing (d) a fatty acid-modified acrylic monomer composed of the reaction product of an unsaturated fatty acid having at least two unconjugated bonds with a (meth)acrylic acid ester having glycidyl group and/or a reaction product of the unsaturated fatty acid with a (meth)acrylic acid ester, (e) a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring and/or (f) the other unsaturated monomer and (C) a rust preventing agent comprising a compound represented by the formula [X-Y] [X is a metal (oxide or hydroxide); Y is phosphoric acid or molybdophosphoric acid].
