PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide anα,β-unsaturated nitrile-conjugated diene copolymer suitable as a raw material for producing a hydrogenatedα,β-unsaturated nitrile- conjugated diene copolymer, a simple method for producing the copolymer and a method for producing the hydrogenated copolymer. SOLUTION: The hydrogenatedα,β-unsaturated nitrile-conjugated diene copolymer has >7 pH of a copolymer solution measured by dissolving thereof in tetrahydrofuran. The method for producing the copolymer comprises a step (A) of copolymerizing anα,β-unsaturated nitrile monomer with a conjugated diene monomer and a step (B) of bringing a crumb obtained by coagulating the copolymer produced in the step (A) into contact with a basic aqueous solution. The method for producing the hydrogenated copolymer comprises hydrogenating the copolymer in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
