A road selection unit (11) selects an arbitrary road using road map data including city's name, country's name and road's name stored in a digital versatile disk-read only memory (DVD-ROM) (2). A road facility search unit (12) searches the facilities located along the specified lane or all lanes of the selected arbitrary road. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) facility searching method; and (2) vehicle-mounted navigation apparatus.
