Wheel frame for a lift with own drive and running at guides, the wheel frame consisting of a cage-carrying frame (5, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18), the lower part (5, 12, 13, 14) of which contains the drive elements of drive unit (24, 3), driving wheels (1) and supporting wheels (2). The drive unit (24, 3), which is connected with the frame brackets (5) to be pivotally movable, is drawn towards the supporting wheel axle (12) by means of a contact pressure equipment in the form of a spring cylinder (8) for the production of the required contact pressure of the frictionwheels (1) and the supporting wheels (2) at the guide.
