Safety work station comprises a working chamber (2) surrounded by a housing (3) and accessible on the front side (4) of the housing via an opening (6) which can be closed by an adjustable plate (5), and a safety monitoring system having a processor which couples measured data determined during the operation of the work station and/or device parameters stored in the work station. A characteristic value is determined to allow conclusions to be drawn from the whole state of the safety work station. The characteristic value is displayed using a display element (9). A scale is produced for each stored device parameter in the safety monitoring system.
